Big wins at Batu Sapi and Galas recognition of Najib's leadership
SANDAKAN Nov 4 — Barisan Nasional’s (BN) big wins at Batu Sapi and Galas by-election is proof of the people”s recognition of the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
BN candidate Datin Linda Tsen Thau Lin won Batu Sapi parliamentary by-election with a 6,359 majority.
She polled 9,124 votes beating Ansari Abdullah of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) with 2,919 votes and Datuk Yong Teck Lee of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) with 1,750 votes.
BN candidate Abdul Aziz Yusoff won Galas state by-election with a 1,190 majority. He received 5,324 votes beating PAS” Dr Zulkefli Mohamad with 4,134 votes.
Muhyiddin said the wins at Batu Sapi and Galas showed that the trend had shifted in fovour of BN as results showed strong support from Muslim bumiputeras and non-Muslims like the Chinese and others.
"This shows that Sabahans regard themself as part of the 1Malaysia people.” He thanked BN voters, election director Musa and deputy director Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan for working hard to ensure victory.
Muhyiddin also thanked Galas election director Tengku Razaliegh Hamzah, his deputy Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and BN election machinery for the hard work.
"I also like to thank the Election Commission and security forces for ensuring that the election process proceed smoothly and successfully,” he added.
